Not to brag, but I think that one of my gift
certificates is a rather unique and kind gift for one
in your life who is a new mom (or family), has just
moved, or is ill and unable to do much cooking.
My Dinner
for Two gift certificates are popular and always
much appreciated and are perfect for a birthday or
anniversary gift.

As a personal
chef I primarily cook and store food on a regular basis for
clients, but I can perform in other venues too. Here
are a few other things I can and enjoy doing:

I teach a wide variety of classes at food co-ops, farmers markets, at Cooks of
Crocus Hill, and in the homes of my clients for one-on-one instruction and small
gatherings of friends and family.

I love
the opportunity to cook for small, intimate gatherings
of friends, family or co-workers, either in a home
kitchen or in a corporate setting. Because I
am not a caterer per se, for I don’t have staff
or mountains of equipment, I am able to only cook
for a group of no more than 10-12. As a result,
I am able to create an atmosphere of informality,
participation, and relaxation.
The truth is I just
love helping out in the kitchen or introducing folks to
new ways of eating. I’m not too shabby at performing
such tasks as pantry clean-outs, food shopping instruction,
and food and farm tours.
If it's in the realm of real food I am always eager
to take part, but I also have access to many resources
regarding nutrition, eating and feeding issues, starting
a vegetable garden, choosing a CSA share, cookbook recommendations,
and more.
It’s funny, I began as a writer and was enveloped in that world through
most of my 20’s, but in the end put the pen down to get my clean hands
dirty on the farm and in the kitchen. I still write, in books of my own or for Fresh,
my food blog, and have been happy to contribute to local magazines and food-related
newsletters. I’m always eager to write about (and discuss) real, traditional
food and the politics related, the nutritional aspects, and the celebration of.
